4.2 Cultural Based Learning Program

4.2.1 Description:

The Fort William First Nation cultural based learning program has been created to develop and promote Fort William First Nation’s culture and heritage through the delivery of programs, services and/or activities in the areas of:

  1. Traditional language (Ojibway)
  2. Spirituality
  3. Customs
  4. Traditions
  5. Ceremonies
  6. Traditional dance and music
  7. Traditional arts and crafts
  8. Oral traditions

 

4.2.2 Eligibility:

  • Serve the Fort William First Nation membership
  • Development of a grant proposal that meets the Cultural Development Objectives

 

4.2.3 Evaluation:

  1. Grant proposals are assessed by a qualified professional based

on their viability, merit and the overall financial package assembled and a recommendation is made to the Casino Rama Allocation and Distribution Committee

  1. The Casino Rama Allocation and Distribution Committee review

applications and make recommendations to the FWFN Council for approval.  The grants awarded are based on funds available, eligibility and recommendations of the grant proposal assessment.
