There will be prescribed burning happening today in our community starting anytime from 12:00pm – 1:00pm and ending at 6:00pm. Please see the attached map, the prescribed burning will be happening in sections C-7, C-8, D-4, and potentially D-3.

“A prescribed burn (or controlled burn) is the planned, intentional application of fire to a specific land area by trained professionals. It reduces wildfire risk by clearing dead wood and underbrush, restores ecosystem health, and improves wildlife habitat.”

The prescribed burning will continue in other areas surrounding the community this spring.
