Portal Assistance

For membership portal assistance please contact Ann Marie Ogima (MembershipAnn@fwfn.com).

As part of the duty to consult and accommodate, Resolute Forest Products is seeking input from Fort William First Nation membership on both the Dog River/Matawin and Black Spruce forest areas as they move toward completing the next Forest Management Plan (FMP) for these two areas. Both of these forest areas are located within the traditional territory of FWFN and therefore, our input and participation is very important. If you have any information about traditional land use e.g. habitat, hunting, fishing, trapping, harvesting, etc. please ensure that this information is provided in order for our interests to be appropriately addressed in the final FMP (expected 2021).

**Please note that both FMPs are renewals and both the Dog River Matawin and Black Spruce forest plans are renewed in 10 year intervals. As policy changes and interests shift, new information becomes available, both Ontario and Resolute are required to address FWFN land use practices, habitat and other concerns through this process.

The link below provides copy of both the Dog River Matawin and Black Spruce Forest Management Plans for your review and feedback. This is a significant opportunity for FWFN members to participate and inform activity within our traditional territory.
